An inspirational story about a true legend, DiCK Caine.

When I ﬁrst arrived at Carrs Park l was so young and naive, l was a kid who needed to grow up. Dick Caine helped me become a better person with his continuous support and care provided for me on a daily basis.

He has helped me grow into the person I am today. without Dick Caine in my life I would not have experienced all the amazing opportunities being presented to me.

Dick Caine was Carss Park, he empathised what hard work and dedication can do- He was a true inspiration and father figure to so many kids and adults.

Dick Caine put his heart and soul into Carss Park Pool and helped make champions like Susie Maroney and Michelle Ford as welll as so many others.

He taught us all important lessons on how to be better people and would always be there in our darkest hours. I owe so much of my growth to the amazing Dick Caine.

Inﬂuences - Kai Taylor's tribute to his coach Dick Caine

Learning Intention: Why? What inﬂuences me? - family, friends, peers, media, school, life experiences, genetics, God)

Who or what has greatest inﬂuence on my self-esteem. My chosen person is my swimming coach. My swimming coach is a crucial part of my life and success in swimming. He is also a massive inspiration, not only to me, but everyone that he not only coaches, but that he meets.

He currently has been at Carss Park War Memorial Pool for over 50 years. This is a great feat in itself, but there is much more to why he is one of my biggest inspirations. My swimming coach (Dick Caine) has battled with cancer, but unlike most people this hasn't stopped him from doing what he desired... creating champions in the pool, but also outside the pool. He has made me realise that anything is possible if you have the passion and drive to do it.

Training sessions will focus on SPRINT EFFORT TRANSITIONS, SWIM & STROKE CORRECTION AND SUPER CONDITIONTIONING.

Dick Caine - coach of 17 World & Olympic Champions

Well know and respected in the community, coach Dick Caine has been coaching and teaching families, producing Olympic and World Champions for over 45 years. He has a wealth of experience to pass on to you and your family.

Dick has been recognized by John Howard, the former Australian Prime Minister, several Civic Councils, a number of Board of Directors and literally tens of thousands of individual boys and girls who are now mum’s and dad’s, with a second generation of people learning how to swim or stay fit.

Tens of thousands of young Australian boys and girls have trained with Dick at Carss Park Pool & Gyms for various sports, and some have gone on to National and International superstar status.

Dick Caine honoured with Premier Gladys Berejiklian's tribute

The Liberal Premier for NSW, Gladys Berejiklian today requested that the liberal member for Oatley, Mark Coure, present this award to Dick and Jenny Caine.

"A comment from John Holt on Facebook best summarises community feeling on the award: "Hi Dick and Jenny. Our Premier now joins a long list of people who recognise the amazing contribution you have made to your athletes and the wider community. You have guided, coached and mentored so many champions and even more you have shaped developed and encouraged children to become motivated and capable adults. Well done as always. Regards JH".

A big thank you from Dick and Jenny Caine to the 300+ team - gym and pool members, friends and family who honoured us with their attendance at our tribute night dinner. No matter when and where you will all be in our hearts and minds.

Last year was a very tough time for us losing the pool and gym after 50years. Your support and attendance on the night lifted our spirits

The fight is not over, it has just begun!

A special thank you to those where on the committees that made this great night happen: Phil Bates, Kathryn Landsberry, Nick Katris, Kevin Greene - all great councillors for many years. John Veage, without him there would be no history of sport in St George/Sutherland.
